FIZZ OF LIFE BLOG by Kia Armstrong
About life in London, Baku and Elsewhere. Restaurant reviews and foodie thoughts, hotel reviews and travel experiences, shopping and services. London/Baku/Elsewhere People and Profiles.
All opinions are entirely my own unless stated otherwise. Restaurants and other establishments and services can change rapidly, especially in Baku. My opinions are often based on one or two visits and can therefore not be taken as definitive or conclusive. Any reviews are completely independent; I am not paid for them, nor do I accept ‘freebies’ or rewards and I do not review establishments with which I have a personal connection or in which I have a vested interest.
I apologise for the quality of some of the photographs. They are taken with my mobile phone and my photography skills leave a lot to be desired.
My name is Kia Armstrong. I have lived in London for most of my life but also in Germany, Pakistan, Venezuela, Australia and, most recently from 2013-2015, in Baku. I am married to a gynae/obs consultant and I have two children and three step children, all adults, and now also grandchildren. An art historian and journalist by education and training, I have also worked as a marketing executive, delicatessen owner, antiques and art dealer, property developer and interior designer, depending on where I was and which opportunities life was throwing at me at any given time.
My interests include but are not limited to travel, reading, eating, theatre, art & design, yoga, complementary medicine & nutrition, people and most especially, my family and friends.
I have a house in Essaouira, Morocco, which I love to visit. See Riad by the Sea
